Case Studies

Practice Based Learning

In late 2021, Health Education England (HEE) – now a part of NHS England (NHSE) – commissioned the Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) to develop a workforce and education reform programme. Vectis Health Care Solutions have worked collaboratively with the RCPod to address one of the overarching aims of the project – placement recovery and expansion.

Beverley has a long and established understanding and has significant experience of the practice-based learning challenges for AHPs, particularly within an NHS setting. She has worked regionally (NHSE SE) and nationally in this space and has collaborated with RCPod to produce a practice-based learning (PBL) framework, which was published in 2023.

The Support Workforce

Beverley worked as a subject matter expert leading and reporting on a national consultation regarding the development of Standards for the Podiatry Foot Health (Support) Workforce. You can read the consultation analysis and report here.

Vectis Health Care Solutions then continued to work with HEE on this work leading a unique exploration and report, following feedback from national managers on the publication of the Standards. Follow this link to find out more

Career Development

Vectis Health Care solutions acts as a subject matter expert organisation for podiatry and worked with NHS Employers, within this capacity, to develop an Employers’ guide to podiatry. This work was published in 2023. Follow this link to view the work.

Vectis Health Care Solutions listened to the unique needs of prosthetists and orthotists to develop and design a career development framework. This work links to the wider AHP career development agenda but also places the prosthetic and orthotic workforce at its centre, ensuring that the framework is a unique but linked offering.
